Help

Short answers for people at the station and for managers in the dashboard. Can't find it? Send us a message or email support@sonoranpoint.com.

At the station

Check something out

  1. Tap your badge on the reader. The station says hello and lists what you already have.
  2. Tap each piece of equipment you're taking. Each one shows when it's due back.
  3. Tap Done, or just walk away: it signs you out after a few seconds.

Equipment with a barcode instead of a tag: scan it with the handheld scanner. Badges work the same way.

Bring something back

Tap your badge, then tap the item. Anything you have is returned. When you're done, the station asks Any problems with what you returned? Tap No for a green "checked in", or Yes to say what's wrong.

Return it for someone else

If your company allows it, tapping an item someone else has returns it for them, and the activity log shows both names. If not, the person who has it needs to bring it back, or a supervisor can return it from the dashboard.

Report a problem

After tapping your badge, tap Report a problem, tap the item, and pick what's wrong: damaged, not charging, missing a part, or another reason your company added. A damaged item is flagged so the next person knows before they take it, and supervisors see it on their dashboard.

See who has an item

Tap the item on its own, without a badge. The station shows who has it and since when.

"Not your station"

Your badge, or the item, belongs to another department that doesn't share with this station's. Use your own department's station. If you borrowed something with permission, a supervisor can lend it to your department.

When the Wi-Fi is down

Keep tapping. The station saves every tap and sends them as soon as it's back online. The bottom bar shows how many are waiting.

Managers and admins

Tap a manager or admin fob and enter your PIN to open the admin menu. From there you can add equipment and employees (tap their new badge or tag), replace a lost badge, check equipment out for someone, lend an item to another department, and change the station's Wi-Fi.

Hold the logo at the top of the screen to see its connection and any taps waiting to sync.

In the dashboard

Signing in

Go to app.sonoranpoint.com. The first time, use the link in your invite email. After that, sign in with your email and password, or ask for a sign-in link by email.

Adding equipment and people

Use Equipment or Employees, then Add. Give items a category so the right time limit applies. Tags and badges can be added later at a station, and existing barcodes can be scanned straight into the barcode field.

Alerts and emails

Items out past their time limit, or out too long, show on the home screen and under Alerts. Each person chooses what they get emailed about under Settings › Email alerts: problems, overdue items, out too long, and shift reports.

Shift reports

At the end of each shift the dashboard saves a report: what went out, what came back, and what's still missing and with whom. A supervisor signs it off with a note.

Departments and who sees what

Managers and admins set up the company's groups under Settings, as many levels deep as needed, and pick the word for them (department, site, team, contract). Each group can share badges and items with its neighbors or stay separate. Under Team access, each manager can be limited to their own groups.

Downloading lists

Activity, Equipment and shift reports each have Download CSV, which opens in Excel or Google Sheets.

Something's wrong

A station shows offline

Check its power and Wi-Fi. It keeps recording taps while offline and catches up when it reconnects, so nothing is lost. Still offline after a restart? Contact us with the station's name.

"NFC reader not responding"

The tag reader inside the station isn't answering. Restart the station by unplugging it for ten seconds. If it keeps happening, email us. In the meantime, items can be checked out from the dashboard.

The activation code doesn't work

Codes work once and expire after 7 days. A manager or admin can make a new one in the dashboard under Stations: open the station, then New activation code.

A badge is lost

A manager can replace it at the station (admin menu, Employees), or a supervisor can change it in the dashboard. The old badge stops working right away.
